Welcome to Lizzie K.Pilates!
An Exercise Therapist alongside a Reformer and Equipment Pilates teacher, specialising in rehabilitation including postnatal recovery.
My goal is to help you become the best physical version of yourself.
My belief is that if everyone started Pilates young then we would be nation that is more aware of our bodies, how we use them, how we adapt them to support our evolving lives and how we keep them injury free.
Pilates isn't just a set of exercises, it is a full holistic approach that reeducates and reconnects you with your body today. My style is not to teach you a programme of exercises, but to teach you how and why you are doing them so that you take more out of every session into your busy life. Every client's body (and mind) is a result of the life they have lived up until the day they walk into the studio; my job is to help you undo some of the movement patterns that no longer positively serve you, and help you build up the ones that will. Thereby, giving you the opportunity to live in a stronger body that you have reconnected and rebuilt.
EVERYDAY - Just as you brush your teeth daily for you oral health, what is it you are doing daily for your physical health? Core strength need improving? Want to tone up? Back starting to ache? Kids getting heavier? Not as flexible as you'd like to be? Pilates can be enjoyed as a pure form of low impact exercise just as much as it can complement a weekly training schedule.
REHABILITATION - When you have been given the green light by your GP or referral from your Physio, Pilates is the perfect way to progress. I currently work with physios and women health physios (recommendations+referrals where needed) for clients with a range of chronic issues. You will be guided to your full strength and mobility.
Issues I work with include - Pelvic floor health, Diastasis (ab separation), Frozen shoulders, Disc Degeneration, Back surgeries, Knee pre+post replacement, Hip pre+post replacement, Scoliosis, Ehlers Danloss, Hypermobility, Sacroiliac Joint pain, Tennis elbow, headaches...to name a few.
ATHLETES - Pilates supports keeping you in prime condition. It educates you on your alignment, your movement patterns and movement dysfunctions and coaches you to use your body in the most efficient way. Efficiency=performance. As low impact movement, it supports your higher impact training and aids in keeping you injury free.
